A Little Bit About Comic Strip Tees

Comic Strip Tees

I always had ambition to be an editor of comics. A few years ago I thought about starting my own comics magazine or newspaper, but I ended up laying the idea to the side. Print had just gotten too difficult to get off the ground. Last year, while I was vacationing in Egypt, I realized I could transition the idea to that of a website.

Every day Comic Strip Tees will showcase a comic by a different cartoonist. It will also allow you to purchase a t-shirt with that comic’s artwork printed on it. Each shirt is limited edition and only sold for 7 days. The artists receive $2 for every shirt sold and retain full rights to their work.

The blog section will feature interviews with artists, comic reviews, tips from pros, and editorials.

The purpose of this site is three fold:

1) To create a single place where every day someone is guaranteed a great new comic.

2) To allow people to discover new and exciting artists.

3) To give back to the comic community. For while book sales may be dropping, t-shirts have proven to be recession-proof.

Although ambitious, my goal is for Comic Strip Tees to be a hub for the comic community.

I spent the past year putting it together. I hope you enjoy it.

  • Dov:
Thanks Anthony. The site is very new and we're still tweaking it a bit. Thanks for the suggestion. It's actually something we're working on.
  • Anthony W:
I like your idea. One recommendation would be to have a button/link to an 'All' or 'Browse' page. Perhaps as it's a new site there's not enough material to do this, but I found myself wanting to look at your full catalogue of Tshirts and not knowing where to click. Keep up the good work.
